After Brexit, the UK implements independent foreign trade and tariff policies. When you import sports gifts from countries other than the UK and Northern Ireland, there will be corresponding tariffs.
Before import, get an EORI
What is EORI?
EORI (Economic Operator Registration and Identification) number. You’ll need it when you supply information to customs authorities, for example when completing customs declarations, pay tariffs.
Format of EORI number
Exists out of two parts:
- the country code of the issuing Member State; for example, the country code for the united kingdom is GB
- a code or number that is unique in the Member State, Or we mean company VAT number.
The usual format of EORI number in the UK is: GB+VAT number+000
How to apply for an EORI number?

You’ll get your GB EORI number immediately unless HMRC needs to make any checks on your application. If they do, it can take up to 5 working days.

How to pay vat?
When goods arrive, you will be noticed by Royal Mail, Parcelforce or other courier company if you need to pay any vat or handling fees, in order to receive the parcel.
Customs duty
Sporting gifts are Non-excise goods, for declared value which is less than £135, there is no charge.
