Mould Making

Mould making is the first step before mass production which allows each piece of medal appearance in 100% same looks like. In mould production there are several steps:

Prepare mould material

The die casting medal molds are made of stainless steel to create an elegant, durable product that can be easily customized for any occasion. It is a fast and efficient process that can create complex shapes with great detail, making it an ideal material for creating medals like sculptures!

Prepare mould material for medal

It is no surprise that the size of mould will vary depending on what dimensions for medals you request. There is no doubt that 50mm custom medal mould cost will less than 150mm medal as the mould material is smaller.

It will take 1-2 day to prepare the perfect mould material.

Engrave patterns in mould material

Durable and long lasting, engraving patterns in mould material is an excellent way to add a brand awareness.

Unlike other techniques, engraving can be done on a large scale with moulds. Engravings are usually used for making objects like medals or badges but they could also have decorative purposes if the design is intricate enough to show up well through casting processes without any added detail from another tool such as sharp instruments which might damage delicate surfaces inside an object being created by this technique.

Engrave medal patterns in mould material

3D design requires more engraving time than 2D design, large size medals require more engraving time than small size medals, double sided design medals take more engraving time than single sided design medals, complex structures such as rotating, spinning, 2 in 1, 3 in 1, 4 in 1 take more time to engrave than simple structures.

We can quickly produce single side 2D medals in 1-2days, but 2-3 days for engraving 3D patterns and spinning work on a mould. If you want to have something that’s more complicated or intricate with different parts then things will take longer since it requires larger quantity of materials and higher skill levels in order complete each individual detail properly. This means if someone wants an 4 in 1 medal they might need 1 weeks before seeing their finished mould sets!

Making routes for die casting medals

Engraved moulds must have a route map to direct the flow of material into die casings. Without the proper instructions on how exactly you’re supposed put liquid metal into these molds and then remove all of its contents from within without breaking any parts along this process–it won’t work!

Make routes for medal mould

The route map for die casting molds are usually designed with a maximum curve of around 70 degrees. The principle is transport raw materials to various positions of the product with the most suitable distance with the fewest nodes and cool the product quickly.

Based on the complex of design, the time to making routes is different also.

Engineers may take 1-2days to make perfect routes for simple design and spend 3-5days when medal design is complex, for example, big size and with many inner cut out hollows may become a challenge task.

Die Casting

Die casting medal

The die casting process is a centuries-old technique that has been widely used to create complex shapes with accurate details. The high level production speeds allow these pieces (of metal) final touches before being shipped off elsewhere on completion, such as at Tesla where they produce car frames for their world’s largest machine! In contrast though we have one smaller compared but both do indeed use similar principles; there’s just more variation possible when making medals than cars.

Die casting production time is related to your order quantities, for example for 500pcs custom medal it will take 1days for die casting, 5000pcs medal request 2-3days on die casting time.

Polishing

Polishing is the process of scouring, grinding and buffing. It’s done to give an item a high-gloss surface that will be free from imperfections such as scratches or burrs making it more presentable for customers who are looking at selling their products on retail markets where appearance matters most. This can be done through some machines Polishing does not improve the dimensional accuracy or geometric accuracy of the workpiece, but aims to obtain a smooth surface or specular gloss, and sometimes it is also used to eliminate gloss (matting). Usually a polishing wheel is used as a polishing tool. The polishing wheel is generally made of multi-layer canvas, felt or leather, and the two sides are clamped by metal discs.

Polishing medal

This production time is mainly determined by medal dimension and order quantity.more times will be take for the larger and the huge quantity order.

We(365MDALS) have the most advanced equipment in our factory and 60% of it is automatic. This means that for orders over 1,000 medals we will take about two days to polish them all in house!

Plating

What’s plating? It’s a process that adds color to your favorite medals and other metal surfaces, but what exactly does it involve. The idea behind the technique is simple: different metals transform nourishing minerals into visually stunning patterns which can be used as an everyday reminder for living mindfully with those around us or even just ourselves when we need some extra inspiration! The most common electroplating method is water electroplating, that is, the process of hanging the product on special tools and then going deep into the water for electroplating.

Plating medals

The 60% of production time is spend to hanger medals on tools,so this production steps also related to your order quantity, usually it will take 2-3days.

Enameling

I love the way enameling makes my medals shine. There’s just something about infusing life into a piece of metal that reminds me to never take anything for granted, even when it seems like everything is going well!

Enameling work for medal production (2)

We can finish enameling work both by hand and by Machine.Hand-made or machine made? That is the question. Well, it all depends on how many pieces you’re making and their size for sure! For small batches like 100 individual pieces at a time (like some enameled jewelry), using Manual Enameling will take less than if we were doing 5k+ orders with one method; however larger sizes require both hands free so that might not work out too well in this case – unless someone has two very large arms belonging to her/himself 😉Enameling work for medal production

To make sure that our products are always of the highest quality, we take great care in organizing them before and during their coloring process. The entire process takes time and includes the following steps: arranging medals on a panel to facilitate efficient injection of color, wiping down metal surfaces before drying paint coats that may have spilled during tinting; so it’s important for us not only type but also position each medal carefully.

Therefore,Enameling is the most time-consuming step in production. Normally it will take 3 to 5 days for a small batch, but if you’re making more than one item at once then expect those numbers go up significantly!

Assembling

Usually the production of lanyards and ribbons will be scheduled together with the production of medals, because it is a less complicated process and usually they are definitely ready before assembly.

Assembling ribbon on medal

The assembly work begins after the quality inspection approval,We have an independent quality inspection department. Inspectors will responsible for each product that flows into the next production process. Defective product is not acceptable.

Generally production time is around 1-2days,well you know,it will always depends on medal quantity.

Packing

Finally we are arrival the last step, packing. Last but not at least production steps. Standard packing is each into poly-bag, the purpose is to protect medals not scratched during transportation.

Medal packing work

Custom requirement can be matching, such as backing card packing, Velvet box packing,Display  packing option or other bulk packing method.

Poly-bag packing time is 1-2days for 1000pcs medals. Custom packing request time will depends.

Don’t hesitate to send your request to us,we will checking delivery time for you reference.
